The graph illustrates the average monthly change in prices of copper, nickel, and zinc during 2014.
Nickel had the biggest change in price, while copper and zinc were steadier. At the start of the year, in January, nickel’s cost climax around 6%, but it started to climb down until June, this caused the price of nickel to drop to -3%. Copper and zinc stayed between 1% to 2% at the beginning, but by May, both prices dropped.
From July to September, all three metals stagnated at any point for 3 months. Then, in the last three months of the year, the prices for copper and nickel went up again. zinc also increased, but not as much. In the last part of the year, in December, all three types of metals had prices of about 1-2%.
In summary, nickel had the most up and down in 2014, especially at the start of the year. Copper and zinc, on the other hand, were more stable most of the year.
