The line graph illustrates the average attendance of spectators in high-level soccer matches in three different European countries: Italy, England, and Germany, over a 24 year period starting from 1980.
Overall, it is evident that, England and Germany showed an upward trend throughout the period whereas the number of people attending kept decreasing in Italy. But at the begining of the period Italy had a huge number of spectators.
If we look at the graph, we can see that, England and Germany started at a closely similar number in 1980, over 25 thousand viewers, and showed same level of fluctuations. After that, in 1986 the number slightly droped in both countries, about 23 and 28 thousand, repectively. Then, the rest of the period they both gradually increased and reached almost the same level, slightly less then 35 thousand.
As the last country, Italy showed a great numder of attendance exactly 35 thousand in 1980 and it increased to around 37 thousand in 1986. After the year, 1986, the number of spectators started decreasing in Italy eventually reaching it’s lowest point in 2004, it was just under 25 thousand.
So, throughout the long period italy decreased and the other countries increased.
