The line graph gives a breakdown of types of transport usage by UK commuters over the period between 1970 and 2030.
It is apparent that the number of people who used cars and trains kept increasing noticeably during the period, while the opposite was true for the number of bus commuters.
Looking at the graph in detail, roughly 5 and 2 million individuals utilized cars and trains, respectively, in 1970. The figures for them grew gradually in the next 30 years; however, both of them kept unchanged between 2000 and 2010. A large growth from about 7 million to 9 million is being predicted in the forthcoming 20 years for the number of car users. The increase from 3 million to approximately 5 million is expected in the number of train commuters between 2010 and 2030.
As the figure for people who used buses to commute declined steadily from about 4 million to just over 3 million until the year 2020, This figure is being predicted to go down significantly to 3 million people who will utilize buses in 2030. When it comes to the numbers, this figure will be the lowest among others in 2030.
