The line graph illustrates the average price of groceries in five countries between 2005 and 2025.
Overall, grocery prices experienced an upward trend in all five countries during this period. Nevertheless, some countries saw much bigger increases or more tangible fluctuations than others.
In 2005, the United States recorded the highest grocery prices at about 320 USD, while India had the lowest figure, at 100 USD. Brazil and the United Kingdom started at quite similar levels, around 250 USD and 220 USD respectively, while Brazil began at 150 USD.
Over the next 2 decades, prices in the United States and India rose consistently, while Germany underwent a more notable surge. By 2025, both the United States and Germany had reached the same ground at 400 USD. Following its steady increase, India ended up at 210 USD, twice as much as its initial value in 2005. The UK’s prices, on the other hand, experienced a fluctuation and finished where it is primarily worth, 220 USD approximately. Being the only nation that saw a decline in value throughout the period, Brazil prices dropped to 180 USD, making it the least lofty country to be reported.
The most noticeable change was that of Germany. After 2010, its prices ascend dramatically. By 2025, the country had become the most expensive country, having the same valuable prices as the US.
