The line graph below illustrates the alterations in production of suits, dresses, and coats in a garment factory over a 20-year period from 1990 to 2010. Overall, all three clothing items saw an upward trend in production, with coats experiencing the most significant growth.
In 1990, suits were the most manufactured items with around 15 million pieces made, being the highest of the three. In a half-decade period, the production of suits reached its peak at 23 million before falling steadily to approximately 16 million in 2005. However, it recovered slightly in the last 5 years, reaching 19 million units in.
Coats, on the other hand, experienced a substantial increase over the given time frame. From just 7 million in 1990, production steadily rose, eventually surpassing suits in the first decade, and ultimately reaching its peak at 25 million in 2010 – the highest amongst the three.
Meanwhile, the production of dresses fluctuated, from 10 million in 1990 to 11 million in 2010. Similar to suits, dresses’ manufacturing recovered and steadily rose to 15 million, making it the least produced item of the three.
