The line graph below illustrates the alterations in manufacture of three different pieces of clothing in a garment factory from 1990 to 2010. Overall, the business was doing well as the number of productions of all three garments rose at different rates. While the production of coats skyrocketed, the other two garments also increased in production but at a more subtle level.
Although the number of suits crafted were the highest in the first decade, the production of coats took over in the last 10 years. After surging substantially from 15 million in 1990 to around 23 million in 1995, the manufacturing of suits plummeted to 20 million in the next 5 years. This downward trajectory continued until 2005 before gradually rising back up to around 19 million in the final year. The number of coats produced on the other hand was the lowest in 1990 at only 7 million; however, it surged drastically to around 17 million in the next decade and finally reached its peak at 25 million in the last 10 years.
Meanwhile, the manufacturing of dresses fluctuated from 1990 to 2000 from 10 million to 11 million. In the last decade however, the number of dressed produced increased steadily to around 15 million, from being the 2nd highest to the lowest in production.
