The line graph illustrates the four most preferred animals that got eaten by citizens from a particular country located in Europe ( chicken, beef, lamp and fish), from 1979 to 2004.
Overall, dishes containing fish were less famous compared with the ones based on meat. In 2004, chicken help the first place although back in 1979 it shared second position along with lamp, leaving beef on top. Furthermore, chicken was the only meat whose consumption increased, while for the remaining three a drop was noticed.
In 1979, beef was the most common eaten source of meat, but together with lamp there was a significant decrease recorded, started in 1989, which has led their consumption to be cut down in half. Both beef and lamp dropped from 200 and 150 (1979) to 100 and 75 grams per person per week (2004) respectively. On the other hand, chicken’s consumption rose by 100 grams, in those 25 years. It went from 150 to 250 grams per person per week. As its already stated, fish was the least preferred food. It’s consumption levels marginally fell from slightly above 50 in 1979 to almost 50 grams in 2004.
