To begin with, in 1979, beef consumption was the highest among the others and was nearly 200 grams per person. However, in the next five years, it experienced a sharp drop and reached almost 170 grams. In 1989, it showed a slight increase, then it gradually went down and reached 160 in 2004. Meanwhile, lamb consumption was 150 in 1979, then dropped sharply until 1984, then again went down gradually and reached 130 in 1989. In 1999, the amount finally reached its lowest point around 60 and in the next five years, it experienced a slight increase.
Chicken consumption started at just below 150 and witnessed a considerable boom until 2004, reaching its highest point at 270, while fish consumption showed a decline from 1979 to 1984 and then remained stable at almost 50 throughout the period.
