The given line graph compares the different modes of transport used to travel to and from work in one European city in 1960, 1980 and 2000.
Overall it is clear that the percentage of commuters that use car increased between 1960 and 2000. By contrast, it is interesting to note that the ratio for bus and tube declined over the same period shown.
Looking at the bar graph in more detail, the percantage of commuters who used car is approximately 7 percent in 1960 and this figure rose from 23 in 1980 to 37, a rise of nearly 14 percent during 20 years. However, there was a moderate decrease for bus from 38 percent in 1960 to 15 percent in 2000, a drop of 40 percent over the provided years.
It could be explained by the fact that percentage of passangers that used train was 18 in 1960 and this figure rose slowly to 28 percent in 1980 then fell to 22 percent in 20 years. Furthermore the percentage of tube users was 27 percent in year that mentioned previously then experienced slight decrease to 22 percent, and then increased to 25 percent in 2000.
