The bar chart compares the level of cases of implementing prison as a punishment in such countries as Great Britan, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and USA over a period of 50 years.
As it can be seen from the graph, overall trend was increasing in almost all comparison figures.
First of all, in 1930 almost all countries in the bar chart saw the most higher imprisonments over the whole observed period. For example, Australia and New Zealand gained numbers they would never achieve again, 65 and 100 thousands, respectively. Furthermore, in 1940-1950 there was a dramatic increase in numbers of prisoners in all countries except Canada and USA, which saved high position, at approximitely 115 and 105 by the middle of 20th century.
Additionaly, by the year of 1960 there was a moderate boost in Great Britan, Australia, New Zealand, and USA. In the next 10 years crime rate droped noteably for all observed lands. Moreover, Great Britan, New Zeland and Australia leveled up their figures. The most higher position by the end of the presented period , USA achieved almost 140,000 of crime situation. This number was approximitely 1,5 times more than in the last decade.
