The line chart illustrates the enrollement of abroad students from China, India, South Korea and VietNam in Australia Universities from 2000 to 2020>
Overall, the number of students enrolling in US universities increased over 20 years, while a small decrease was seen in the South Korea students after 2015. Furthermore, the figure for China was consistently the highest throughout the examined period.
Noticeably, starting from nearly over 30000 students in the first year, the quanity of Chinese learners studying abroad rose significantly, reaching its peak at approximately 200000 in 2020 and far exceeding other countries. Converely, Vietnam had only under 10000 students studying in Australia, despite an increase, it still had the fewest international students at the end of the year examined.
Similarly to Vietnam, but to a larger extent, India showed a substiantial rise in the learners enrolling in US universities, from roughly over 10000 students in 2000 to 50000 in 2020. Although South Korea figure experienced a growth from 20000 to about over 40000 students, even larger than India, but after 2015 it decreased much, reaching about 30000 students in the last year of the survey.
