The line graph compares the quantity of books which were selected to be read by boys and girls at Startmouth School Library between 2009 to 2012.
Overall, it can be seen that both figures experience an upward trend. Additionally, the number of books read by female students surpassed that of male students and became the highest at the end of the period.
In 2009, the number of reading materials borrowed by girls stood at around 22, nearly half as much as that of boys. One year later, it saw a minimal increase to around 50 before significantly rocketed to 100, at which it surpassed its counterpart, and continued to rise to 140 in 2012.
From 2009 to 2011, there was a tremendous increase in boy readership from around 45 to 100. However, it, after being exceeded by its counterpart, suddenly decreased by 20 in 2012, 60 lower than that of female readership.
