The line graph illustrates the number of foreigners visiting three various regions; the coast, the mountains and the lakes, in a European country in the period between 1987 and 2007.
Overall, it can be observed that there is an upward trend regarding the number of overseas visitors for all the regions in the country, however, the amount of visitors in the lake areas saw a sudden plummet in the period between 2002 and 2007.
To begin with, the coastal areas saw 40,000 overseas visitors in the year 1987. The number of visitors then declined in 1992, after which, witnessed a steady increase till 2007 to approximately 75,000 overseas visitors. On the other hand, the mountainous regions grew slowly from 20,000 to just over 30,000 overseas visitors within the timeframe between 1987 and 2007.
In addition, the lake regions had the least amount of overseas visitors in 1987 as compared to the former. However, it rose steeply to 40,000 foreigners in 1997 and surged to over 70,000 overseas visitors in 2002, reaching a peak. In contrast to this, it experienced a sharp decline to 50,000 overseas visitors in 2007.
