The line graph illustrates changes in the number of tourists who visited three different areas of a non-specified European country between 1987 and 2007.
Overall, it is readily apparent that the number of visitors to all mentioned places indicated an overall increase during the period analyzed. While tourist numbers to the coast and lakes showed a more dramatic increase, those for the mountains indicated a fluctuation with an upward trend.
In more detail, the largest increase was seen in the proportion of tourists to the lakes. The number was at only 10.000 at the beginning of the period, which then rose dramatically to approximately 75.000 in 2002. However, the numbers fell by 25.000 until 2007. Meanwhile, the number of coast visitors grew exponentially to 75.000, eventually overtaking the lakes in 2007, despite a slight decrease between 40.000 (1987) and about 35.000 (1992).
With regard to the quantity of visitors to the mountains, the trend was mostly fluctuational. Starting the period at 20.000, the number of mountain travelers oscillated until the end of the period, with an overall increase of about 15.000.
