It presented a fluctuation of doing business in Japan throughout the period, with a slight increase to 7 million visitors at the beginning, peaking at nearly 10 million in 2000. However, it dropped to below 8 million in 2005, and rose significantly again by the end of the period.
Initially, having vacations decreased sharply to 4 million, while visiting friends grew gradually to 4 million before 1995. It showed that the having holidays grew steadily to almost 7 million in 2000, reaching the peak at 8 million, and started decline by the end of the period. However, visiting friends grew steadily and consistently rose to 6 million in 2005, with a small decrease in 2010.
