Overall, the number of shops opening and closures changed alot over the past year. In general, the rate of opening were higher than closing during this time period.
In 2011, about 6400 shops closed, but rate of closure was higher this year. In the next year, 4000 shops opened and the amount of shops closed rose to 6000. After that, in 2013, shop closures went rose slightly higher to 7000 in comparison to opening, which dropped to 5000.
In 2014, both trends were similar, and close to 6000. However, in 2015 ratio of shops closing fell down suddenly to only 700, while openings continued to fall to 2014. Then, in 2016, closures went up again to around 5100, and stayed up the same level until 2018. Meanwhile, openings went down slowly and reached 3000 by 2018.
