The line graph illustrates how many males and females graduated from universities in Canada between 1992 and 2007. Overall, the numbers of both male and female graduates grew over the period, with the latter recording a greater increase. It is also clear that females accounted for the majority of graduates in Canada throughout the period.
Focusing on females, there were nearly 100,000 graduates in Canada in 1992, after which there was a slight rise in the figure to approximately 105,000 in 1995. Having declined slightly to 100,000 three years later, the number of graduates experienced a considerable growth, finishing at just over 145,000 in the final year.
In terms of males, who followed a less substantial upward trend, the number of graduates started at just over 70,000 in the first year. Similar to females, despite increasing insignificantly to around 77,000 in 1995, there was a minimal fall in the figure by about 3,000 in 2000. This was followed by a steady recovery, reaching roughly 95,000 male graduates in Canada in 2007.
