The bar graph gives information about how many schoolchildren took part in different kinds of sports including swimming, football, netball, basketball as an extracurricular activity in 2010.
Overall, the most popular sport among boys was football, while more girls engaged in netball. The trends for other types of sports showed similar figures between both genders.
Looking at the details, football was played by 20 percent of boys, but it was the least popular activity for girls with far below 5 percent. However, figures for netball were rather higher in girls team than the boys’. Another mostly attended type of sport was swimming, with over 15 percent of girls and far below this proportion.
When it comes to basketball, the percentages for both girls and boys gave almost similar results ( nearly 7% and around 8% respectively). In 2010, only 4 % of girls and 5% of boys showed no interest in any sort of sport.
