Overall, adults who took part in reading activity had highest percentage in two areas, whereas photography was the least popular activity in 1990. By 2010, reading activity showed common high proportion in rural and urban areas. Additionally, unpopular activities were such as animated plays, playing among adults.
In 1990, rural area’s adults who participated in reading activity showed the highest percentage compared to other activities, accounting for 71%, while citizens proportion of reading activity was less than rural people, giving 61%. Animated plays participation was relatively low in both areas, it stood at 10% in urban areas and 18% in rural areas. Following this, playing was more popular in rural areas (26%), compared to urban areas (21%). Finally, photography had the lowest participation rates, with urban areas at 7% and rural areas at 14%.
By 2010, reading participation increased significantly in urban areas(78%) and stabilized at same level(78%) in rural areas. Animated plays activity’s percentage remained unchanged(10%) in urban, but rural participation decreased slightly to 14%. Rural adults who took part in playing activities proportion remained constant (26%), while urban participation fell to 14%. Lastly, photography gained popularity in both areas, rising to 17% in urban and 24% in rural.
