The chart above shows the percentage of houses using three different renewable sources of power between 2000 and 2020 for heating and electricity.
In the year 2000 solar energy was the less used, by 5% of the population willing to invest in this type of green energy. A steady and firm rise of its use in the two decades resulted in 25% of households that in 2020 use solar energy.
A similar continuous growth happened with eolic energy, going from 10% of users in 2000 to triplicate until reaching 30% in 2020. The same growth percentage as the solar energy can be observed here, with around 4 to 5% users more than the previous years.
As opposite, biomass energy is the one that had the strangest evolution over time. A repetitive rise and fall of its use caused a unusual situation, starting from 15% of owners in the year 2000 to around 18% in 2020, but with peaks around 20% in 2004 and 2020.
