The given bar chart illustrates the proportion of people who work part-time in 4 different nations of the United Kingdom between 1980 and 2010.
As can be seen from the graph, while the figures for England, Scotland and Wales showed an upward trend over the given period, the figure for Northern Ireland slightly decreased. Wales was the dominant country of part-time workers throughout the timeframe.
Wales had the most number of part-time employees in both examined years, standing at just over 30% and a third respectively. The proportion of England also displayed a rise of 5% from approximately 25% in 1980 to about 30% in 2010.
Scottish percentage started at a low 10% but then went up significantly to nearly 20%, surpassing that of Northern Ireland. The proportion of Northern Ireland, however, initiated at around 15% in the first year yet ended up falling inconsiderably to 12%, becoming the lowest figure among 4 countries.
