The line graph illustrates the proportion of individuals by age bracket visiting the movie theatre at least monthly in a country from 1978 to 2008.
In general, the number of people aged 14-24 was the largest group. While the older people saw a fluctuating upward trend, the opposite was for those aged 14 to 34.
In 1978, individuals aged 14-24 stood at 90%, which was the highest group in this figure. Meanwhile, the volume of the 25 to 24 age bracket witnessed 80%, higher than the aged group 35-49 about 20%. The figure for people who are above 50 years old recorded over 40% of visiting the cinema per month.
Over the subsequent 30 years, individuals in 14-to-24-year-olds hovered slightly around 90% and ended with 88% in the final year. There was a significant decline in the percentage of those aged 25-34 and hit the lowest point at under 60% in 1988, but it later rebounded at 80% from 1988 onwards. The age bracket of 35-49 year olds and above 50 increased to 70% and 50%, respectively, despite minor fluctuations.
