Overall, it is clear that the proportion of people going to work by rail, bus and bicycle increased over the period, while the use of drive and car experienced a downward trend. However, the percentage of people who prefer to walk to work has remained the same.
From 2001 to 2011, the percentage of people going to work by rail and bus rose almost 5%. Similarly, the percentage of bicycle users followed the same trend.
By comparison, the percentage of car users has decreased, representing the least popular mean of transport throughout the period. Likewise, drive users saw a significant drop, but even so it continued to be the most popular means of transport among the five analyzed.
Meanwhile, the percentage of people who prefer to walk to work stayed unchanged, close to 15%.
