The line chart illustrates the proportion of visitors of different age groups going to a musem at least one per year from 1980 to 2010.Overall,the over 50s constituted majority of the visitor numbers while the reverse was true for the 15-24 -year-olds .Additionally,abeit with some variations,the figures for the two remaining groups was at the same level by the end.
Looking at the youngest and the oldest age brackets.In 1980,about 48% the latter visited the museum annually,more than double the former’s 20%.After a moderate rise of 2% in the next decade,this figure then experienced a gradual decline and ultimately settled at 40% by 2010.The other one also followed the similar pattern,slightly growing to about 27% in 1990,staying relatively stable for 15 years before falling back to 20% in the final year.
The 25-34 and 35-49 age brackets fluatuated almost equally during the whole period,both started at over 35%,subsequently slightly dropping of approximately 5% in 1990.However,there was a notable recovery up to 40% and 38%,respectively.Both catagorise remained unchanged until 2005 before undergoing a minimal drop.At the end,it is apparent the the younger showed more interest than the older one.
