Overall, the figures of all metropolitans in question displayed an upward trend, with that of Korean citizens expecting the most dramatic change.
To begin with, it is obvious the figure for the USA initially stood at 70%, which was higher than that for Korea, at 40%. The percentage of cities’ population in China and India remained unchanged with 20% between 1970 and 1980. However, in 1990 China’s figures did not witness any change while the figure for India increased slightly to around 30%. In addition, the proportion of citizens in all four countries, including the USA, Korea, China and India rose significantly to nearly 90%, about 85%, just over 60%, and around 35% respectively.
Moving to year 2030, the rate of urban population in the USA and Korea are forecasted to reach 90% while in China and India are predicted to be nearly 40% and over 60% respectively.
