The graph illustrates the population of four Asian countries from 1970 to 2020. The countries mentioned are Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Indonesia. Furthermore, predictions have been made from the year 2030 until 2040, which are also present in the graph.
By observing the population graph, it can be stated that Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia’s populations were increasing until 2020, as it was convenient to provide the prediction for these countries. Whereas in the Philippines’ case, the population rate was in a declining state from 1990 until 2010, after which it began to increase.
In 1970, Thailand and Indonesia’s populations were 19% and 13% lower, respectively, compared to Malaysia and the Philippines, because at that time their population percentages were 32% and 30%. Moreover, Malaysia’s population is enormous when compared to the Philippines, Thailand, and Indonesia because from 1990 onwards, their population rate was high, which led to a high population percentage. In 2020, the percentage was at 75%, and in 2040, the predicted value is even higher, at 85%. The predicted population percentages for the Philippines, Thailand, and Indonesia are lower, which are 50%, 60%, and 45%, respectively.
