The chart makes a comparison between two areas of people who paid attention to being on the internet in a state located in Europe in a 5-year period, from 1999 to 2004.
While approximately 15% and 5% of people used their time on the internet in metropolitan and rural areas, the chart reveals a significant change in the percentage of people at the end of the period, with a predominance reported by city dwellers; the figure for village users (35%) was as low as twice that of the city.
Until 2001, city users displayed solely growth, increasing 15% per year except in 2001, whereas there was no considerable transformation in the rural population in 1999; nevertheless, the rural trend showed a striking change after 3 years, representing 10% though containing one-fourth of the suburban rate.
Since 2002, the figure for urban place users has not shown valuable results, but they have represented little results without falling until the end of the period. In 2002, by showing an extremely high result compared to previous results, the urban city population became dominant in that chart. By contrast, the rural trend accounted for a similar figure compared to previous rates, with a gap of 5%. At the end of the period, the urban city population reached a peak of 60%, being more than twice the percentage of the rural area (35%).
