The bar chart illustrates the percentage of two types households in a certain country that had internet access from 1999 and 2004. Overall, both of family unit increased substantially. However urban and suburban households had higher rapidly than rural areas.
In 1999, while urban and suburban households had to around 15%, rural family unit had approximately 1%. Over the following two years, the figure of urban and suburban households rose sharply to approximately 30% in 2000 and 40% 2001. Rural areas had also gradual growth, with internet access increased to about 5% and respectively.
From 2002, internet access continued to grow in both cases. The percentage of urban and suburban households with internet access climbed from 50% in 2002 to just over 55% in 2004. Meanwhile, rural houses increased rapidly from around 12% in 2002 to 25% in 2003 before reaching approximately 35% in 2004.
In conclusion, although urban and suburban households maintained higher levels of internet access throughout the period, rural areas experienced growth rapidly.
