The line graph illustrates the proportion of people in four different age groups who went to the cinema more than once a month between 2000 and 2011.
Overall, it can be seen that cinema attendance was highest among the 7-14 and 15-24 age groups throughout the period, while people aged 35 and over visited the cinema the least. Most of groups showed fluctuations, but attendance generally increased by the end of the period.
The proportion of children aged 7-14 rose sharply from about 38% in 2000 to around 55% in 2002, before felling to roughly 33% in 2004. In climbed again, finishing at approximately 55% in 2011, the highest figure on the chart. A similar but lower trend can be seen that 15- 24-years-old, to starting at 30% in 2000, then increased sharply and reached 43% in 2004. While trend revers to packed 29% in 2008. The figure finally rose and picked highest point to around 44% in 2011.
For the 25-34 aged group, 18% people went to the cinema in 2000, while this figure increased to about 30% in 2006. After this year, rose slightly to around 20% in 2011, despite some fluctuations. By contrast, 35+ group recoded lowest figure, staying bellowing 10% throughout the year, at the end the percentage minorly increased.
