The presented line graph channelizes the fluctuation in population in three distinct counties of the U.S. state of Oregon during 1940-2000.
By examining the data, it can be observed that Washington is the county with the highest population and Columbia on the other hand is the county with the lowest population.
In 1940, Columbia had a population of 29,000 closely followed by Yamhill with a figure of 30,000. However, in the subsequent year, the gap in the figures broadened with Columbia being at approximately 35,000 and Yamhill standing at 45,000. In the following years, this pattern continued with both counties increasing figures in a parallel pattern reaching 75,000 and 90,000 respectively by the year 2000.
Although three of the counties have experienced a surge in the population over the past six decades. Washington has seen a dramatic surge in population growth with the figures being 75,000 in 1940 to the highest number of above 240,000 in the year 2000 making it the most populated county in Oregon.
