The given graph provides information on the population of 4 kinds of turtles – leatherback turtles, green turtles, all species, olive ridley turtles in India over 33 years from 1980 to 2012.
In general, it can be clearly seen from the graph that the population of olive ridley turtles increased dramatically, contrasted to leatherback turtles showing a notable decline in the population. In addition to this, the inhabitants of green turtles and all species secured a comparable trend.
Despite being similarly started in 1980 with the number of 100, the olive ridley turtles’ population growth had gained significant traction from 1980 onwards, spiking its figure at an accelerated pace to surpass those of other turtles by the end of the graph. In contrast to olive ridley, which showed a plunge in its figure, leatherback demonstrated a dramatic decrease in its number over the shown period.
While stagnating in the first six years, the population growth of both green turtles and all species exhibited a minimally different trend in their figures, the number of all species increased slightly while the residents of green turtles
experienced a slight decrease in its number.
