Overall, it is clear that the proportion of elderly people’s increased significantly and is projected continue rising, while, the percentage of juveniles is decreased gradually. Whereas, the percentage of adults is remained the largest group throughout the period, however, it is expected decrease in the future.
In 1960, around 55% of the population was aged 15-64, compared with 30% for those aged 0-14 and approximately 15% for those aged 65. Over the four decades the percentage of juveniles are fell nearly 15% in 2000. Meanwhile, the population of olderly people’s rose steadily to roughly 25% in 2000.
