Overall, it is evident that the share of swimming activity experienced a sharp decrease, so it was replaced by team clubs, while there was the growing popular in visiting gym among British people since 1983.
Althouth the main position was placed by water-lovers, accounted for exactly half of the total club members at the beginning , it went down dramatically to about 20% in 1998 and remained its share to 2003. Additionally, the percantage of people attending team sports remained a stable around 35% between 1983 and 1988 ,and after a minor increase it dropped slightly to about third in 2003, but it replaced the leading position of swimming. Finally, there was a noticeable growth of gym participants from 5% to about 30% at the end of the given period.
