The line graph illustrates the percentage of inhabitants in a particular nation by age groups from 1960 to 2040.
Overall, it is apparent that the age group including people from 15 to 64 years old occupies the highest percentage over the timeframe observed. While there is a rising trend of aging population, the figure for the 0 to 14 age group experiences a contrasting trend.
Regarding the 65 and over age group, the figure started at the lowest place in 1960 at above 10%. However, in the next 30 years, there was a minor growth and in 1990, the percentage placed the same position with the juvenile age group at 20%. In the remaining years, the figure continued to rise gradually and it is predicted that it will reach its peak at approximately 45% in 2040. In contrast, the percentage of the 0 to 14 age group witnesses a downward trend. At the beginning, it placed second position among the group. Nevertheless, between 1960 and 2000, the figure plummeted sharply to just over 10%, at the same point of the 65 and over age group. After that, the figure decreased slightly and is predicted to end up at 10% in 2040.
Turning to the remaining feature, the working age group maintains the highest percentage over the period. The figure started at about 55% in 1960 before fluctuating around that data range until 2010. From that time, the percentage began to drop moderately and will be at the same point at the retirement age group in the final year.
