The line graph illustrates the population of particular country by age group between 1960 and 2040. Overall, what stands out from the graph is that people in the age of 15-64 remained the dominant until 2030. While individuals aged between 0-14 declined, people aged above 65 are expected to rise significantly.
In 1960, individuals aged 15-64 accounted for 55% of the total population. This figure saw a modest increase, peaking at nearly 60% around 1990 and remained relatively stable until the early 2000s. However, following this rise, it began to decline and is expected to drop to around 45%. At the same time, the elderly people started at approximately 15% but has increased steadily. It rose until 20% in 1990 surpassing the population of younger generation and it is projected to rise around 45% staying same as people aged 15-64.
The percentage of children was about 30% in 1960 but it has gradually declined. By 2020 it was below 20% and it is expected to fall to 10% by 2040 making it the lowest of all age groups.
