The given graph illutrates the population of Chile’s age groups from 1975 to 2035.
Overall, it is clear that a number of 15-64 years old people took the lead in 2015. This change has been plummenting and is projectes to continue to do so. Another remarkable feature is the contrast in growth between the two groups of 0 -15 and 65 and over ages throughout 60 years.
Look at the graph more closely, one can see that the percentage of 15-64 aged group had increased rapidly from approximately 53 percentage in 1975 to 70 percentage in 2015. However, the rate is estimated to decline sizably when it comes to 2035, which is decreased by 10% compared with the past. On the other hand, the proportion of the ages below 15 years old has gone down sharply to just under 20 percentage, which show an downward trend that is seen over 60-year period. In contrast, the share of 65 year and over group has risen considerably from its lowest point of roughly 5 percentage in 1975 to almost 15 percentage in 2035.
