The line graph illustrates the percentage of individuals living in Chile divided into 3 groups of age, 0-14 years, 15-64 years, 65 years and over, over the 60-year period, starting in 1975.
Overall, the proportion of 15 to 64 years old has always been the most in the total population of this nation and it is expected to remain the position in the coming years. Generally, the oldest seemed to be increase over years; meanwhile, the youngest group has been predicted to decrease dramatically.
From 1975 until now, 15-64 age group made up the majority of the total. This figure went up gradually and reached its peak at 70% in 2015. However, since 2015, it has been predicted to drop and remain stable to 2035 at 60%
At the beginning of the period, the people under 15 years old group accounted for high proportion at about 40%. Since then, the figure seemed to fall until now and can consistently decline at approximately 20% in 2035. Finally, the elderly tended to increase slightly but still remained the lowest position of the graph. Nevertheless, this is the only of the three groups expected to rise tripled at the end of the period.
