The line graph illustrates the population of Chile by age groups between 1975 and 2035. Overall, all 3 age groups of 0 to 14 years old, 15 to 64 years old, and 65 years and over show completely different patterns over the years. Firstly, the 15-64 years age group displays the greatest starting population of aproximately half of the entire population with 0-14 year old following next with almost 38%. Finally, the 65 years and over age group has the least population in 1975 taking up only 5%.
Secondly, the 0-14 years age group displays a downtrend over the years, dropping almost by half over the 60 years frame. On the other hand, the 65 years old age group’s population quadrupled over the 60 years time frame, starting from 5% and rising up to its peak at 15%.
Finally, the 0-14 years old age group reached its peak population at the year 2015 with a share of 70% and then quickly dropping down by 10% over the next 20 years.
Overall, the data illustrates the population changes over a 60 year period by different age groups in Chile.
