The line graph illustrates data about the number of population growth in two specific countries namely India and China over a 50-year period between 2000 and 2050.
Overall, the number of people in both countries saw an upward trend throughout the period. One interesting point is that despite India’s population starting with the lowest rate in 2000, it is predicted that the figure will reach the highest and surpass to the other in 2050.
In detail, the population of India started at 1000 billion in 2000. However, there will be a significant increase in 2030, rocketing to just over 1400 billion. It, then, will rise dramatically in the next 4 decades to 1600 billion, this figure being the peak level of population in 2050.
In contrast, China began at around 1250 billion of people in 2000. After that, it experienced a modest growth to 1420 billion in the first 24 years, before it will level off until 2030. Chinese population is likely to drop slightly to 1400 billion in 2050, which meant that it will reach far lower than India’s population in the last decades.
