Overall, it is clear that, the birth rate had the highest number, but it is predicted to experienced a downward trend. Whereas the opposite was reported in the death rate, it will have increased by the final year.
To begin with, the number of births was around 800,000 at the start of the period. It then experienced a significant increase, reaching 1,000,000 in 1970. After this peak, the figure gradually declined to slightly below 600,000 by 1990. This was followed by a slight rise to approximately 700,000, after which the number remained stable until the end of the period.
In contrast, the number of deaths was lower initially, at about 700,000 in 1950. It then rose marginally to just over 700,000 in 1970, before slowly decreasing to just under 700,000 by 2030. By the final year shown, the death figure had increased to 800,000.
