Overall, it can be seen that most of the money spending on housing whereas spending on tobacco was the least.
To commence with, in 1987, average family spend 15% on housing. Transport, which was constitute for 11% of the weekly spending.The proportion of spending in Fuel and power and Other goods and services accounted for 18% and 16% respectively. A fifth of the weekly spending went for food. Tobacco which was the lowest with 7%.
In 2007, the expenditure for housing increased dramatically to 33%. Also, family spend their money for transport witnessed a significant growth to 31% which ranked second. It is interesting to note that tobacco and food experienced similar decrease by 5% Each. There was a slight fall by 3% in fuel and power. The percentage of Other goods and services remain unchanged.
