The graph illustrates the per capacita fruit consumption which divided into four categories, in the United States from 1950 to 2010.
The most striking feature of the graph is that the change is less marked in orange and pears consumption than the others. The pounds of bananas, for example, was approximately 11 pound in 1950, which rose dramatically to around 79 pounds by 2010. We can also see a sudden increase in banana consumption between 1980 and 1985. In 1950, around 56 pond was mesaured in apples, which reached the peak in 1980 with 90 pound, but it fell down steadily by 2010. Also notewothy is the dramatic increase between 1960 and 1965. The graph shows a striking difference between pears and apple in pounds. While apple reached over 45 close to 67.5 pounds, the amount of pears was only around 10 pounds.
Overall, we can conclude that more people were fond with some fruits such as apples or banana by 2010.
