The graph shows us the million tonnes of polluted air in the UK from 1990 to 2005.
Overall, what stands out from the graph is the common downward trend regarding households, industry and total pollution, however a rise in transport pollution.
Looking at the details, the total and industrial pollution produced eight and six million tonnes in 1900, but by 2005 slowly decreased to five and three million tonnes. The household line in 1900 started with one million tonnes of contamination, stayed constant until 1999 (99 years), and finally decreased to zero in 2005. The transport contamination in 1900 began as the household line, however slightly fluctuated in 1993. Then increased sharply by two million tonnes, ending up in 2005 with 3 million tonnes of pollution. The fact that highest amounts of contamination of: industry, total and household, was the starting and their lowest quantity of dirtined air is their endpoint in 2005 cannot be left behind. Contrary, the grey line’s lowest number of pollution is the starting point, one million tonnes and the highest portion is 3 million tonnes.
In conclusion, it is seen that the source proving the majority of polluted air is the total of: industry, transport and households; and industry.
