As the table shows, in 1996, 62% of the population visited the cinema. This percentage rose significantly the following year to 72% and remained unchanged in 1998. The attendance percentage declined slightly to 70% in 1999, before rising to 72% in 2000. Meanwhile, the frequency of visits fell slightly from 10.3 in 1996 to 8.3 in 2000.
Regarding cinema visits according to age groups, there were moderate fluctuations with an overall upward trend. People aged 14-24 had the highest percentage, at 15% in 1996, reaching just under 20% in 2000. Those aged 25-35 and 35-46 ranged from 12% in 1996 to 17% in 2000. However, the group aged 50 or more had the lowest proportion, with 10% in 1996, reaching almost 13% in 2000. Notably, 1998 witnessed the lowest percentage of cinema visits among all age groups, ranging from 10% to 15%.
