Pianos started from just under 10% sales in 2008-9 and gradually decreased over the years with just around 2% in 2018-19. Lastly, drums had its lowest sales in 2010-11, at a little above 5%, but continued to be the second-most selling musical instrument in the UK.
In summary, guitars are the best-selling musical instrument in the UK, although it is predicted to decrease significantly to a little above 10% in 2020-21. Trumpets, drums and percussions sales fluctuated throughout the decade, but they are predicted to be stable in the next year, at 5% and 10%, respectively. Pianos are the least-selling among all, but it is predicted to slightly increase in 2020-21.
