The bar graph illustrates the number of hours men and women spent on various activities (cooking, cleaning the house, washing up, reading, gardening, surfing the internet, watching TV) around their home every week.
Overall, with the exception of reading, women spend more time on household chores (cooking, cleaning the house, washing up), whereas men prefer leisure activities (watching TV and surfing the internet). While the highest amount of time spent by the women is on cooking, that is watching TV for men. Both genders spend the least hours on gardening.
Regarding household chores, women spend 15 hours on cooking, nearly double that of men. Meanwhile, the number of hours spent by women on cleaning the house is more than twice compared to men (5 hours and 2 hours, respectively). Again, women (7 hours) allocate more time on washing up than men (5 hours).
In contrast, men engage on watching TV more than women (14 hours compared to 12 hours, respectively). There is a significant gap between both genders spending the time on surfing the internet, with men spending three times higher of their times than women’s (12 hours and 4 hours). Gardening is the least favorite activity for both genders, with men spending 2 hours and women taking only an hour on this activity.
