A glance at the graph provided reveals the overall percentage of family members in the UK who didn’t have access to reliable food source and who had very low food security in a 20-year period from 2000. Overall, the proportion of people who experienced low food security was by far under whom had food insecurity.
It is evident that the percentage of ordinary people without appropriate diet fluctuate between 10 and 12 percent in 2000-2008 period. After that, the percentage experienced an exponential growth from 10 percent in 2008 to 18 percent in 2010. It reached its highest point of just over 18% in 2012. However, it plunged to 12% in an 8-year period from 2012.
Meanwhile, the number of households with low nutrient diet was 2% in 2000 and experienced a peak at 6% in 2008. It fluctuated at about 3 per cent in 2000 until 2006, and subsequently, saw a rapid increase to its peak in 2008. From 2010 to 2020, the number of them saw a fluctuation again but, at around 4%.
