Overall, the Louvre in France was the most popular destination for visitors among all the galleries listed. By contrast, the State Hermitage in Russia attracted the smallest number of people. It is also clear that the top three galleries saw significantly more traffic than the bottom three.
Regarding the most visited sites, the Louvre had nearly 9 million visitors. The Metropolitan Museum in the USA and the British Museum in the UK followed, with approximately 6 million and just under 6 million visitors respectively.
In terms of the remaining galleries, the National Museum of Korea had a lower attendance of about 3 million. The figures for the Museo del Prado in Spain and the State Hermitage in Russia were very similar, with both receiving between 2 and 3 million visitors by the end of the year.
