The bar graph illustrates the academic staff members across seven different faculties (Arts, Business, Education, Engineering, Law, Medicine, Science) according to gender, of a particular university in 2012.
Overall, the portion of male was significantly higher than the females in most of the fields, while few fields were female dominated. It can be seen that the percentage difference between male and female is the least in medicine and the highest in engineering.
Four out of seven fields which includes Business, Engineering, Law and Science were male dominated, in which Engineering has the least female involvement of approximately 18% and the highest male involvement about 80%, which is a massive 62% gap.
Arts, Education and Medicine were the three fields which had higher percentage of female than males in 2012. Vice-Versa to Engineering, the most difference was observed in Education faculties, which was highly female dominated of approximately 78% and had the least male participation , just above 20%.
