Overall, it is clear that Engineering was the most popular faculty for men, while Education was the most favored by women. Besides, it is obvious that the proportions for Medicine were relatively similar between the two genders.
Arts and Medicine were preferred by males and females. To be specific, the field of Arts attracted 58% of women, while only 44% of males were involved in this field. The difference between the percentages for Medicine was less pronounced, with 51% of women choosing this department, higher than the figure for men by about 2%. In addition, in the Faculty of Education, the number of female lecturers significantly outweighed that of male lecturers, with more than 72% of lecturers being women, three times higher than the number of male lecturers.
Regarding the faculties, Business, Engineering, Law, and Science are male-dominated professions. Over 80% of engineering lecturers are men, a figure four times higher than that of their female counterparts. However, the gender gap narrows in Law, where 60% of lecturers are men and 40% are women. Meanwhile, in the Business and Science faculties, both sexes are equally represented, with around 65% men and 35% women.
